DICP Seniors

Since 1960, DICP’s Seniors program has brought dignity, community, and joy to La Alma neighborhood’s vulnerable elders. Without this  programming, many if not all of DICP’s senior clients would experience social isolation, often an effect of poverty that can lead to poor mental and physical health. But four days a week, each individual is picked up at their home and brought to DICP to commune over hot meals and enjoy activities like square dancing, bingo, field trips, and holiday celebrations. For many, DICP has become a second family.

The Seniors program is currently offered to seniors (60+) at two locations: our main offices at 1212 Mariposa Street and at College View Community Center in southwest Denver.

“My mother first brought me here as a guest when I was 50. I’ve been coming here for the last 29 years, and now my children come, too!” – Tillie, Parish Senior
