Food Pantry
Distance to grocery stores and lack of transportation are barriers that can limit access to healthy food options.
Access to nutritious food is a fundamental right, not a privilege.
*There are only two grocery stores within a 5 mile radius of DICP and for those without a car, it takes 2 buses and 26 minutes to reach one of them.
What
Denver Inner City Parish offers a weekly in person pantry serving up to 160 people and five mobile pantries throughout the Denver metro area. All operate on a client choice model where participants select protein, fresh produce, dry goods, and other ingredients to make several healthy meals throughout the week. We strive to have at least 50% of the food at a distribution be fresh produce, lean meat, eggs and dairy items.

Found myself in a bind and Stout Street told me about this place. I went there today and got there about 10:15. I was 36 in line. They open at 9:00.. Took about an hour to come up. They supply a box big enough to fit most stuff.. You get to pick your own stuff off the shelves but you need to be quick about it.. The produce was fresh enough to take home. The milk still had 9 days left on expiration. Got 1/2 pound ground hamburger and 4 boneless pork chops. Pimento cheese , butter everything fresh…. Recommend.
